Overall Satisfaction with SAP Business Technology Platform

To develop customized applications and automated application use cases for S/4HANA users. Developing an application to log third-party oil tank storage data into S/4HANA for more cohesive reporting. In addition to this, their custom application to track the oil contract billing details post delivery and provide an end-to-end visibility to the stakeholders.

  • Provide a seamless platform to develop a custom SAP application utilizing non-SAP systems
  • Development powerful back integration to remove any connectivity ambiguity

Cons

  • Have specialized connectors for specific industry use case application
  • Have seamless integration with data platform to create data application on the fly this includes both SAP and non-SAP products
  • Create offline SDK and code editing studios to ease the development issues when working remotely
  • Spending time to develop the application idea and visualize first before jumping to SAP Business Technology Platform and initiate development
  • Take the time to test and validate architecture and data flows for the potential application or process to be developed on SAP Business Technology Platform
  • Conduct regular assessment of usability, effectiveness of process turnover
I believe that even though there are various useful features to develop the application utilizes a whole lot of services to integrate third-party apps and even uses spacing and scaling capabilities, there's more to be done on the AI and LLM integration for the developer ecosystem. One of the examples is to be able to provide effective recommendations to the developer and solution architects on effective code repositories and design management of apps.
Overall support is positive, with the response needing to be more bespoke and niche according to the issues at hand. The high-priority tickets are sometimes missed or delayed due to initial review of the problem statement and directing the ticket to a specific support expert at hand. For example I have had high-priority ticket waiting for SAC dashboard plugin issue, which later was resolved by an internal team member.
I have seen and used at least one use case - Yes, within logistics I came across multiple transportation fleet driver tracking mechanisms using SAP Graph and build process automation to optimize fleet management. This was done to utilize the optimization approach to effectively deliver and reduce fuel consumption, along with classifying the fleet ranges for specific deliverables and a variety of requirements.
Initially, SAP Business Technology Platform works hand in hand with S/4 HANA and the SAP product suite, but also can go and extra mile and integrate with other non-SAP products and services at hand. It's capable enough to understand the ERP use cases component and develop intelligent applications to satisfy the users.
