Overall Satisfaction with SAP Business Technology Platform
We use BTP for hosting multi-tenant applications for our customers, who can use our applications to enhance the functionalities in their SAP applications, with industry specific and local requirements. BTP enables us to embed Gen AI capabilities in the applications that we offer to our clients, and well as complete suite of application development and management tools. SAP Clients are able to easily familiarize with the UI5 based user interfaces that is native to SAP applications now.
Pros
- Generative AI Hub
- Cloud Foundry and Kyma Runtime for UI5 apps
- ABAP and NodeJS Runtime
- Change and Release Management Tools
- Digital Workspace and Portals
Cons
- Multiple development tools for ABAP, No Code and Javascript
- Sizing and estimation is a bit challenging for some services, based on users and transaction volume
- Recipes for sizing would be helpful with sample combinations/bundles of services for specific use cases
- Infusing Generative AI capabilities easily into our solutions with existing talent with minimal learning curve, has been very impactful. We have been able resolve several challenges for our clients with AI capabilities, that we could not, previously.
- Integration Suite is quite extensive in capabilities for bringing together the IT landscape into a single ecosystem.
I have seen and used at least one use case - The invoice processing use case, using document extraction and document management is a good use case to start with.
BTP is simpler to use for SAP consultants and SAP analysts, with more experience and skills in SAP systems and exposure to SAP ecosystem.
