Overall Satisfaction with Microsoft Power BI

Linking to a large local *.db file, ensuring real-time access to the latest results while enabling scenario comparisons. PBI establishes a single source of truth, prevent unintended data modifications, eliminate the need for transferring large Excel files, and enforce access controls. Manual Effort Reduction, Automates the generation of weekly digital reports, eliminating the need for manual data compilation and processing, Improved Decision-Making: Provides real-time insights into key performance indicators (KPIs), such as the number of starts and unavailability trends. Allows controlled access to reports, ensuring data security while making information available to relevant end-users. Reduces dependency on large Excel files, improving efficiency and reducing risks associated with data manipulation errors.

Pros

  • Optimizing Microsoft Power BI Dashboard Integration with a Large Local .db File
  • Access Control & Collaboration
  • Data Centralization
  • Manual Effort Reduction

Cons

  • Better navigation for novice users, overwhelming with too many developer type of options
  • Periodic refresh failures to key data sources often means owner to fix
  • Better integration to home grown applications and not just to a data source table
  • Ability to analyse Market Data and our Site responsiveness to make money
  • Standardised reporting across organisation of almost 10000 employees
  • Business process improvement, speedier decision making and expediting actions
Slightly bias, however, being a Microsoft product organisation it integrates well with ALL MS Applications such as Power Apps, Power Automate and Sharepoint. It is self explanatory application with minimum training required and provides the novice with graphical interfaces which normally requires advanced Excel skills
All others apps are enablers and Microsoft Power BI is the visual that end user sees which often adds more value to the end user to make strategic decisions from this. All are equally great but Microsoft Power BI is the end result

Has significantly improved collation of data and visualisation especially with business across Europe. Has given me the ability to see the Site availability at the click of a button to see which Site is in the "money" and seize opportunities based on Market data
