Overall Satisfaction with Google Tag Manager
We use Google Tag manager across dedicated iOS and android apps as well as web products to support more information beyond simple analytics
Pros
- Single point of data for an app
- Makes more sense for apps than other tools
- Easy to implement in a short time
Cons
- Documentation is confusing at times
- Hard to know where a failure point is
- Interface is a little clunky at times
- It's free!
- Works well with other products
- Many times clients require gtm and additional tools so you don't have a lot of choice
- Fabric and facebook sdk
We actually many times end up implementing a few tracking tools because each marketing department has their way of doing things so we don't pick this over that but use it in addition based on client reqs.
