What is Apigee Sense?

Apigee Sense from Google (acquired in late 2016) protects APIs from unwanted request traffic, including attacks from malicious clients. Apigee Sense analyzes API request traffic, identifying patterns that might represent unwanted requests.

Using this analysis, the user can identify clients making unwanted requests, then take action to allow, block, or flag those requests.

With Apigee Sense, users can protect APIs from request patterns that include:

  • Automated behavior that blends with human behavior
  • Persistent attempts from the same IP
  • Unusual error rates
  • Suspicious client requests
  • Data crawling
  • Key harvesting
  • Activity bursts
  • Geographical patterns

Customizable Google Cloud system which provides very easy interface with flexible Automation features and the software configuration operations is quite simple. The functions for API configuration, document management capabilities and very easy software for the project life cycle management. Proxy management tools are effective, and the ability to provide the best data visual analytics is excellent.

Deployment is very easy and the configuration is excellent and the Apigee Sense is ready to go. The platform has an effective centralized Cloud monitoring capabilities and the data visual analytics that are generated are useful to the business production. Excellent portals and the features are easy to custom when starting with the platform and the project documentation tools are reliable.

Apigee Sense is great when you need to protect APIs built on the Google cloud platform. It is specific to GCP and only protects the GCP infrastructure from bad actors. For most cases, Apigee sense is good enough to ensure the API is protected and has a good level of oversight from their analytics tools.
